BOB JONES 1440 KEYS THIS MORNING! RUNNERS REVEALED

This morning much to the dismay of the political and legal machines and powers that be I appeared on Bob Jones' show on 1440 KEYS on AM radio from 7 to 8 a.m. Here are the highlights:

El Defenzor revealed the legal scheme to fund not only lawyers but also politicians and keep the Democratic party afloat:

Simply put I discussed the role of "runners" or people who go and pickup cases and take them to a lawyer (generallya referring attorney) who then cleans the cases by referring them to another attorney who is generally a trial attorney. The split here in South Texas according to my sources is generally 50/50.

I discussed the Huerta mystique and the enigma that he was. Preacher, father, businessman and lawyer who kept his runners under his thumb, kept the Catholic church enthralled as well as the public with the religious movement. I discussed his children and staff taking down and dismantling his television presence and ministry in less than 48 hours at Mr. Lopez' station.

I also discussed the lawsuits that the Huerta firm have had from Mr. Rene Rodriguez on Joseph Huerta and the Gonzalez firm from the valley suing Huerta Law Firm for soliciting. Additionally the role of Bill Edwards was discussed and his interviews on KZTV Action 10 news with broadcast journalist Andy Lescano on July 23, 2009 regarding runners as well as the controversial youtube video (search term William Edwards).

I will continue my investigation. As part of a possible book and documentary I will be investigating the phenomenon of runners in South Texas and the structure in place. i.e., runners get cases, lawyers make the money, lawyers then contribute to certain candidates and fund the Democratic party. Now with the Celis issue, the Republicans are storming the castle to weaken the Dem party by weakening their main source of contributions: lawyers.

One disclaimer: I am not saying that all lawyers engage in getting cases through the use of runners. Most lawyers I know adhere to the mandate that cases cannot be solicited in any manner.

Lastly, I talked about judicial races and in my opinion how Juan "RFK" Reyna and Tina Trevino will be formidable opponents in judicial races for the Republicans and that Angelica Hernandez has officially resigned 7 days ago from the D.A.'s office and will be setting her sights on the Democratic primary against Manuel Banales. Banales may have made a fatal error by sticking his neck out too far for Celis and making the hypocritical and ridiculous statement that he thinks the jail's are overcrowded.

MAURICIO CELIS FOUND GUILTY ON 14 OUT OF 22 COUNTS

As El Defenzor predicted Mauricio caught some guilty charges despite Tony "The Pitbull"'s Canales efforts. Sentencing was the worst. Evidence can be admitted on sentencing as to character and it is a bloodbath. Theo the owner of the Palace testified that Celis pulled a gun and badge out after someone scratched his car at the palace. Someone said that Celis made 10,000,000 between 2004 and 2009. Sentencing is pending. Judge Luijen had discretion to send him home and did to take care of his affairs pending sentencing. Will the IRS be next? Will all of the trial lawyers who paid him money be investigated. Watts? Wigginton Rumley? Many in the blogs are crying for the investigation of their role with Celis including Chris Pineda from CGT who sat smugly in the courtroom like a vulture waiting for Celis to die in the desert without a drop of water. Watts is vomiting blood at this moment and wishing Tony Canales hadn't asked for a more specific indictment which implicated all the Club? Wow.

CELIS: DOG AND PONY SHOW?CURTAINS OR DOES HE SKATE?

In the legal world you never, ever know what 12 people on a jury will do. Here we had a jury of 12 Hispanics. Much of the testimony steered toward terms such as "licensiado", "cedula" and other terms of art which pitted Mexican against American law. In the end what did it matter? Many asked at the courthouse and around town, "why are we wasting our time trying this guy?" The truth some argue is that Celis created a goldmine for men like Mikal Watts who knew very well the role of Celis and his Mexican lawyer persona with Vance Owens and at the least Watts turned a blind eye to Celis' neardo'well law degree. Testimony was heavily concentrated on this question and today, Tony only had a few witnesses, among them Paloma Steele's ex who testified that Celis never acted or tried to deceive "The Club" that he was an attorney. Remember that the burden of proof lies with Carlos not Tony. Whatever way the jury decides also remember that Luijen is the ultimate decider of punishments and can sentence Mauricio for a while. It was a calculated risk the defense took and it is a high stakes game with Celis' life in prison in a 6x8 cell and giving up the "Mamma Mia" lifestyle he enjoyed, partaking of the fine Italian cuisine and spending thousands on wine and expensive cigars. No one can doubt Mauricio's generosity with the poor and with supporting his Democratic Party. What has he really done? If he had to apologize or be fined or punished by the State Bar that would be one thing, but Thomas J. Henry, Big Bill Edwards behind the scene pulling the strings and feeding information to the San Antonio Express News and all the rest circling the shark tank to rid themselves of Mauricio and therefore weaken the golden boy and aspiring senator Mikal Watts and help him lose many referrals to them. Never let what is really going on be clouded by a drunken naked girl, an expired deputy badge from Duval County, a vainglorious, glory monger like Kaelin trying to stick his nose into it to get on TV, the famous Bryan Smith who just does not want to get his fake hair, fake moustache and glasses out of the cameras(Im on a roll hear), and all the other cast of characters like Larry Olivarez who tried to fool the jury that he never introduced Mauricio as an attorney (HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN LARRY AND MAURICIO ADDRESSING A GROUP OF MEXICAN LAW STUDENTS IN MARISELA SALDANA'S COURT WHILE MAURICIO PROCLAIMED HE WAS A MEXICAN LAWYER AND LARRY NODDING HIS HEAD WITH 30 LAWYERS PRESENT?) EVEN MARISELA HERSELF OUR JUDGE OF THE 148TH SAID ON TAPE SHE THOUGHT HE WAS AN ATTORNEY. JAMIE POWELL FROM THE POLITICAL PULSE PROCLAIMED AS SUCH SEVERAL TIMES AS WELL. WHERE DID THEY ALL GET THAT IDEA?) but I digress, the main point here is that Tony has certainly muddied the waters and created a measure of reasonable doubt. They need one juror as a holdout to acquit or have a hung jury. Anything can happen tomorrow. Wait and see. Personally, I hope Mauricio is slapped on the wrist or less and he smartens up and let's everyone in on the world he was in for a decade and the hypocrisy of all of these lawyers who took the cases, paid Mauricio fees and then act innocent. Please. Do not be anyone's well paid Pawn anymore Mauricio. You have wasted a lot of money on individuals who in the end are just like the white trial lawyers; they use you and when they don't need you they throw you away. Learn from this brother. Keep scrubbing! It will never come off.! Buena Suerta Manana! Our prayers are with you.

CELIS TRIAL HEATING UP: LAWYERS ARE PARROTING THEIR TESTIMONY

Has the Media done a smear job and mischaracterized him? Will he be set free?

Is he falsely accused and misunderstood?

Unbelievable. As I wore my Sunday best to check out the trial today I was dumbfounded to hear lawyers saying the same thing, "Gee, I didn't know if he was or wasn't an attorney." Many of these people were the same guys printing out millions with him and now they are acting like the cow staring at the new gate. Let me get this straight: "We make millions with him and Tony and Carlos expose the checks to prove it, yet we don't know his status. All of us. What are the odds. To complicate matters there is the tape at one of the stations where the whole issue of Mr. Celis' status as a lawyer is being rerun from October of 2007. This is definitely a tough trial. What it comes down to is as they say on Law and Order : reasonable doubt. Is there a reasonable doubt that he could be innocent and they targeted him?. Could he have done his homework and been careful. The only thing that may have hurt him was his being attracted to lawyers, the spollight and giving away gobs of money. Last time I checked that was not a crime, just being a showoff Mexicano. Sounds like many of the men I've dated. LMAO. Is that a felony? Not the last time I checked.

Let us wait and see what Carlos Valdez and the very articulate Angelica Hernandez have up their sleeve along with the AG. According to El Defenzor's Homero there are 23 counts heis being accused of and may be separate trials. I am no lawyer but the odds are against him at least not pulling something. Perhaps if there is a deal he should take it. Stay tuned.

Celis Helps Families Cope with Losing Their Homes

The major networks have once again covered Mauricio Celis coming to the aid of 12 families at Paradise Bay Apartments who lost their homes in the form of Christmas gifts and HEB food certificates. He along with various business owners banded together to help. Kudos to Celis in this Christmas season. This may leave the Republicans like Kaelin and trial lawyer Henry at a bit of a quandary on how to make him the villain that they want. We challenge Republican darling of a reporter John McCormack to print or follow up on the good in this man as well as the bad!
