LOCAL SUPER LAWYER KATHRYN SNAPKA FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST CONCENTRA MEDICAL CENTERS AND DR GUY RACETTE

THANKS MRS. SNAPKA!

JUDGE NELVA

Just when I thought lawyers had all but abandoned injured people because of allegedly negligent doctors one lawyer has filed a lawsuit against Concentra Medical Centers this week (CAUSE NO. 08-4762H). Many of you have heard of Concentra Medical Centers because of the much publicized misdiagnosis of one man (who declined to speak with us) who now permanently walks with a limp and lost part of his ankle because of the alleged negligence of this facility. Many other workers have come forward and blasted Concentra Medical Centers for sending them back to work. The latest of these unfortunate fellows is Mr. William Chubb. El Defenzor reviewed the petition where the board certified personal injury lawyer Kathryn Snapka (famous for 7 and 8 figure verdicts around the nation on harmful pharmaceutical drugs and for medical malpractice and who bested Tony "the Pitbull" Canales in a product liability-diet drug lawsuit to get a whopping $56 million dollar verdict( http://www.tahsa.org/html/JuryVerdicts1.pdf ) has alleged in her lawsuit on behalf of Mr. Chubb that not only did they fail to diagnose his broken ankle properly but Concentra and Dr. Racette(supposedly relocated to St. Elizabeth Minor Emergency Center Beaumont, Texas)) allegedly had MR. CHUBB WALK on the ankle for months. Ms. Snapka, Mr. Chubb's lawyer, could not be reached for comment Friday when El Defenzor attempted to call her and her staff about the case and the petition filed Friday afternoon .at 2:17 p.m. The suit also alleges that Mr. Chubb was denied an orthopedic surgeon referral when he requested it. The lawsuit also ALLEGES that Concentra and its doctors conspired to defraud injured workers like Mr. Chubb and conspired to obtain repeat referrals from companies so that they could remain the "company doctor" for these companies and putting their own money interests in front of the patient. The case has been filed in Judge Nelva Gonzalez Ramos Court (347th). According to court records Concentra is not new to lawsuits about sending injured workers back to work and lawsuits have been filed by other lawyers in the past. El Defenzor will investigate this medical malpractice case very carefully and shall be calling not only Dr. Guy Racette accused of medical negligence but also demanding an interview from Concentra Medical Centers and their lawyers. IF anyone has any information or bad experiences with Concentra Medical Centers the blog lines are open!

HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW OF DR. GUY RACETTE, M.D. WHO ALLEGEDLY SENT WORKERS LIKE MR. CHUBB BACK TO WORK INJURED:

OFTEN EL DEfenzor has remained in the middle on tort reform, but not when purported injustices are occurring with hard working men and women and they are being sent back to work allegedly harmed or crippled all because suppposedly these "doc in the boxes" want to make money off the system. El Defenzor will be launching a full blown investigation and determine if these allegations of fraud, medical negligence and hurting people is pervasive. El Defenzor also asks, who is Dr. Guy Racette? How long has he worked with Concentra Medical Centers and how many other injured workers has he allegedly sent back to work?? MORE TO COME.

The doctors at these clinics do send you back hurt. I know. I was one of the injured workers. When I told them I had a back injury that turned out to be ruptured discs requiring surgery this doctor told me that I must have gotten hurt at home. They will lie, steal and cheat in order to not pay. The workmans comp system truly sucks for the injured worker. You can't even go and see your own doctors because they don't tell you. Doctors who don't put the injured person first should lose their license.

That doctor left many people cripple.

HOMERO VILLARREAL said...

Yes, we tried calling him in Beaumont and he was apparently either not there or not available. I will keep digging as to why he left Concentra after all of those years.

HOMERO VILLARREAL said...

we called dr. guy racette 3 times. He would not come to the phone. We wanted to know if it was true he sent injured workers back to work and left people crippled for life. He deserves to explain his side of the story. El Defenzor will find out the story but the past clients and lawyers are not talking. No matter. We will search for the truth independently. Give us a call back Dr. Racette. Next we will call Concentra and its lawyers as promised.

Screw the doctors like Racette and their piece of shit lawyers like the Hoblet law firm.

My husband injured his back on the job. His company sent him to Concentra. Even though he told the docs there that he was having pain radiating down his leg, they only prescribed physical therapy, muscle relaxers and pain pills. They refused to do an MRI or any type of definative diagnostic test. They sent him back to work. Now a little over a year later, he's still having excruciating pain radiating down leg to ankle. We finally broke down and paid out-of-pocket to take him to ER. His involved leg muscles have begun to atrophy due to nerve damage from injury. Concentra did NOT do due diligence for him at time of injury! - on purpose I believe. This is quack medicine! It is designed to delay diagnoses and treatment with the sole purpose of "muddying the legal waters" for injured employees.

On May 9th, 2012, i tripped over a cable under my register & when i landed on the floor behind me, i landed on my left knee & right palm, I ended up at Concentra Medical Clinic in Indiana and was examined. 3 xrays later i am in knee brace with light duty restrictions.. ok that wasnt that bad..so i had an appt on thurs for Physical therapy and went to work on friday w/a follow up visit after work at drs office. The funniest thing i heard the dr say.. "we got a problem with your knee cap" you have a HAIRLINE FRACTURE of it and I am referring you to the Orthopedic specialist who will want to take more xrays.. ok 3 more of those and the dr confirmed hairline fracture & put me in a full LEG CAST... Dr said no activity & to see me on june 8th, when cast comes off.. What gets me is that the 1st dr didnt read the xrays right and let me walk around with a knee brace on .. and the orthopedic dr puts a cast on me and informed me i was off work, but i guess some drs can be swayed by my stores claims dept.. i was called back to work .. so hobbling around on crutches for the past 3 weeks and then the xrays on june 1st, dont show the knee cap has fused back together right.. i seen a gap where the hairline fracture was top to bottom .. i had to see a 2nd dr for his opinion. and in my opinion someone screwed up at Concentra in Indiana..

so now i am pissed off..
