Blockbuster Again! Rose Vela Announces for the Texas Supreme Court

Rose Vela announced today that she will be running for the Texas Supreme Court. She is currently the Judge in the 13th Court of Appeals. She caused widespread controversy in the Democratic Party in January of 2006 when she announced as a Republican and bested Fred Hinojosa in a surprising landslide. Politicos in the know indicate that she has both Democratic and Republican support and that of Kay Bailey Hutcheson who is believed to be the next Governor of Texas and is presently a Texas Senator. Rose Vela is a long time judge in Nueces County and is the wife of political boss Filemon Vela. MORE TO COME.

They were blasting her in the Caller Times blogs but so far she has won every race she's run. Susie Luna hates her but I am wondering if it is because she bested Fred Hinojosa or because Rose changed over from Democrat to Republican. I think she may be able to swing enough Democratic votes but she better use that money and power to get the Republicans in DAllas and Houston to help her. It be nice to have a Latina in that Texas Supreme Court and the time is now. Just like with Sotomayor we need hispanic women in powerful benches throughout Texas and America for diversity and a different perspective. Purahispana

Rumor has it that Perry said that he will not be with her because she is supporting Kay Bailey as Governor. To me what does it matter? There is no strong democratic candidate for governor right now so we might as well put a woman in there. Can't do worse than Perry. Rose Vela does not need Rick Lameduck Perry's support and he pissed everyone off trying to rip all Texans off by taking land to make that I69 corridor. Get rid of his ass.

Yes, dear bloggers. I will be watching this race closely as she begins her bid as one of the first Hispanic women to be on the highest court in Texas. Sure I've blasted her when she has merited it but she may win this in 2010 handedly if all of the stars are aligned.

This is going to be a huge campaign according to my sources and will definitely effect the Perry vs Hutchison race. Do the Republicans want to alienate the Hispanic vote even more after the Sotomayor fiasco which was a slap in the face to hispanics?
