ORTIZ ANNOUNCES $367K FOR KINGSVILLE CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY

Funding to help 78 families relocate

WASHINGTON--Today, U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortiz (TX-27) announced $367,436 in funding for the Kingsville City Housing Authority from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“These funds will be awarded as vouchers to 78 families who will need help in relocating,” Ortiz said. “These families currently live in the Brown Villa, a public housing development that is scheduled for demolition in connection with a HUD-approved demolition/disposition plan.

“It is important to offer alternative housing to families being displaced,” Ortiz said. “The Housing Choice Vouchers Award will help with their transition.”
